Sales is a part of business. Heck, most people go OUT of business because they just can't sell. It's a skill... or actually a SET of different skills, and you must get GREAT at all of them.
I also know most entrepreneurs have a horrible relationship with selling... and that's because we have all had horrible experiences being sold to. And it tends to be our personal code of ethics or the need to be liked that inhibits our ability to sell or get great at it.
And I get it. I used to be the same way. But $100M in sales later... ya learn a thing or two about HOW to sell, and do it in a way that doesn't leave you feeling icky.
I also see a lot of people teaching sales and copy... (or "prompting" you to use ChatGPT to do all your sales for you *insert eye roll here*)... and they have it all wrong.
I'm sorry, but lines like: "Hey mama, I see you boo. You're sad. Frustrated. Angry. Well I got you." is NOT great copy. And does not cause sales.
So... I want to share something I do. This is 80% of what makes the sale, and it will change the game when it comes to how you sell.
Most struggling entrepreneurs make the mistake in thinking sales is about making big, hype-y promises, forcing people to do things they don't want to do, and then being manipulative in order to extract money from them.
And if I thought that's what sales was, I would be broke too.
So, watch this:
Step 1: Create something GREAT that people already want.
Step 2: Put it in front of the people who want it.
Step 3: (And this is the 80% part), realize that everyone that wants what you have and doesn't buy simply has a resistance point. Our job is to remove the resistance.
Yes, 80% (if not more!) of our job is to remove the resistance to the sale.
This resistance is most commonly called "objections".
An objection is simply a belief held in the mind of someone who already wants your stuff that prevents them from getting it.
This is the "omg, I want this, BUT..." (fill in the blank).
