From Knowledge to Knowing: One Shift That Creates Real Results
James Wedmore

👇 TL;DR: This Week in The Digital CEO Weekly 👇
✅ Why keeping your word isn’t just about integrity... it’s about reclaiming your personal power.
âś… The difference between knowledge and knowing, and how mastery happens when the lesson leaves your head and shows up in your actions.
From the Desk of James Wedmore:
I spent this past week with my Next Level clients at one of our in-person retreats in Orange County, California. That has given me very little time to ponder on the topic for this week's newsletter, let alone write it.
So for that reason, I will keep it intentionally brief this week.
And that’s a conversation around the Power of BEING your Word. Which is something I shared at our retreat, and I have spoken about many many times.
It’s so easy to let myself off the hook and say...
“Hey, you had a busy week, you worked hard, you deserve a break!”
“It’s not a big deal if you skip a week.”
But as I shared with our Next Level clients, something magical and transformative will occur when you do treat it as a “big deal.”
The fact that I made a promise to myself that I would keep writing this weekly is the big deal.
And when you do business long enough, you’re gonna have days... heck!... weeks where you don’t feel like it!
But when you can honor the power of your word, even in the times you don’t feel like it, you get an opportunity to discover some of Your Personal Power.
So to use this newsletter as an example, writing a shorter newsletter this week is better than not writing one at all.
Because the real theme of that retreat, and so much of the work I do, was around one thing:
Turning Knowledge into Knowing.
Today it’s easy to observe how so much of the information you want or need is right there, easily accessible. And I even hear a lot of people say things like, “oh, I already know that” or “thanks for the reminder.”
But do you really KNOW it?
Is it embodied? Integrated? Mastered? Or is it just the concept you have memorized?
Have you ever heard that quote: “I don’t fear the man that knows 1000 punches, but has mastered one punch 1000 times.”
So… you may have heard of the concept of integrity or the power of your word, but what good is it gonna do unless you’re living from integrity?
We ALL KNOW we shouldn’t be “operating from FEAR”… but how often do you?
We ALL KNOW you should not be focusing on shiny objects, procrastinate, operate from perfectionistic tendencies, or lose sleep over a hater, refund or critic...
…but how often do you?
Now… that’s not to be hard on yourself, but it is an opportunity to hold yourself to a higher standard.
Because the Universe isn’t responding to what knowledge and concepts you have stored in your brain… but rather to the frequency you are embodying right now.
This week, instead of learning something new, let’s revisit something known in your life.
👉 What is something you have learned but have yet to embody? A habit or discipline you've started to practice, but fell off the wagon?
👉 Where is a place where you broke your promise to self or others and you can clean that up and try again?
👉 Where have you been hesitating to make the right decision and what can you do to follow through on that?
👉 What thought, belief or lie have you still been holding onto even though you know you shouldn’t?
It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day busyness of our business.
And that’s the problem.
When you are so fixated on the go go go, we rarely stop to ponder who or WHAT is driving the bus.
There is just as much value in the rest and reflection, so make sure you find that balance and maintain it for yourself.
OK, as promised, I’m keeping it brief, thanks for reading!
In my next few newsletters, I’ll probably share and expand on some of the specific concepts and conversations we had at that retreat so stay tuned for those!
